Brittany is our Member of the Month! Another 5 am member getting the well-deserved recognition that she deserves. Britt is one of our amazing teachers that we have at the gym. She always comes in and crushes the workouts and doesn’t ever complain at 5 am! She is such a pleasure to have in any class and it is always fun to watch her power through some double unders and hang power cleans. This is a long time coming and I’m happy that we can celebrate Britt this month :)When did you join Croga?Well, I guess joined pre-covid and then rejoined again not too long ago!

What were you doing before for fitness?

I've always been consistent with some form of fitness, I tend to rotate yoga, pilates, running, and of course Croga! Before Croga I was a Crossfit Kindred member for a long time!

What was your first workout? First reaction to your first workout?

My first workout was "Karen" for 150 wall balls. I only used an 8 lb ball and it took me a VERY long time to finish! It's now one of my favorites!

What improvements have you seen in the way you look, feel and perform?

I now feel the most comfortable making adjustments where I need them. When I first started crossfit I had a habit of to pushing myself to meet standards that I think were just too much for me. Now I workout to feel good in the moment too, not just after a workout. I've also always loved my arms when I stay consistent!

What days and times do you come to Croga?

Always at 5:00 am! If there was a 5 am class on the weekends I would probably join, I'm a morning girl!

What's your favorite WOD?

Anything with double- unders or box jumps. These movements took me a long time to master and I might be a little proud :) Oh, and deadlifts and cleans! Annie is definitly a favorite workout too!

What's your least favorite WOD?

Anything with the bike! It's growing on me I guess, maybe it will be a favorite in a few years, who knows!

"The Britt" WOD! What would it be?

Hmm. I'm always up for an AMRAP. Maybe 20 AMRAP of Double Unders, Deadlifts, Hang Cleans, and Rowing? I don't know how to best choose numbers, I need expert help!

What’s your favorite post-workout routine?

Ideally, after a workout and while I feel the dirtiest AND with the most energy, I WOULD like to deep clean my house before getting cleaned up for the day and maybe visit the nail salon. Sadly this never happens because I always go to work after the 5 am class!

What's been your favorite culinary discovery since joining Croga?

Quinoa salads for meal prep lunches! I have a recipe that's super yummy!

What's your biggest fitness goal for this year?

ONE, just ONE muscle up!

What do you love about this type of fitness?

I love how inclusive it is, it really does feel like anyone can do it and it's not intimidating.

What words of advice do you have for new members or people considering joining Croga?

You can feel comfortable coming as you are and asking anyone for help. I'm not a chatty girl and often keep to myself but when I do reach out I find that EVERYONE is genuine and kind.

Anything to add that we didn't touch on yet?

I've included photos of my husband and my niece! Two of my favorite roles are being an auntie and a teacher. I recently spent a day with her in Kindergarten, so cute :) I'm a very dedicated reading specialist working with students who have dyslexia. I am always happy to chat about everything reading related!
